Holiday Home Tour part 2

Today is Christmas Eve! We still have a few days with our decorations before I am forced to take them down by a certain Grinch. If you missed my first post about our holiday decor in our living room Friday,  you can check it out here.

Its no surprise I love garland, and this year I had every place that I could. My favorite place for garland is our stairs, I was glad to have enough to make it all the way to the top!

I love coming down the stairs every morning to this view. It definitely puts me in the holiday spirit! I wish the garland could stay up all year!

Our dining room has lots of fun details from the tie backs to the chandelier. Not much is left undecorated!

Daniel’s favorite tree is also in our dining room, if it were up to him it would be the only tree we had. As you can see it takes the Charlie Brown tree to the next level. We had to tape one of the branches back on and another is about to that point.

These trees sit on the planning desk in our kitchen, they tend to leave a little snow on the desk when you bump them but they are an easy clean!

Last but not least, there are these super cute marquee lights my sweet friend Lindsey made me! They are battery powered so I have moved them all around our house including our kitchen and our living room. She does custom orders, so make sure you check out her Etsy site here.

I am still in disbelief how fast Christmas came this year, and I’m in no rush to take our decorations down!

Wishing you and your family a very, Merry Christmas!

Under Sink Organization

For those of you who have been to The Container Store before, you probably agree with me when I say it is jam packed full of things you think you don’t really need…that is until you actually get it. And then you aren’t really sure how you ever lived without it.

For those of you who have never been, you are probably wondering what one item is universally life changing. I could name a few, however, the Under Sink Organizer should probably be in your shopping cart next time you visit TCS in person, or virtually online.

The cabinet under most kitchen sinks is home to a variety of cleaning products necessary to maintain a household, as well as some miscellaneous other things, and ours was no different. I don’t know many people who have a rhyme or a reason to their under sink organization, and going through many houses on a monthly basis, I haven’t seen many either.

The cabinet under our sink never really made me feel anxious due to the lack of organization and I never felt compelled to do anything about it until one fateful day, D asked if I had bought vinegar at the store and he couldn’t see it sitting right in front of his face.

Under Sink Before

The worst part about this is debatably the horrible photo quality despite the definite room for improvement on the organizational front but I can for a fact state that I have seen worse. It wasn’t until after experiencing the inability to see something right in front of my face, I had a conversation with my TCS guru, my mother, and she suggested the under sink organizer.

In addition to the two levels to disburse the items, the organizer also features two drawers that allow for easier access and less reaching required to obtain all the things you may need.

After installing the organizer, I have to admit, it didn’t necessarily maximize my storage. The garbage disposal and pipes could be partly to blame because they take up so much space. Despite the lack of additional storage, I would still suggest this is worth the investment if you are like me and believe time is money and hate digging for things longer than necessary. Not to mention if you are considering selling your home, the less cluttered your home and cabinets are, the better.

What do you think? Would you get this? Or do you have any better solutions to under sink organization? Tell me in the comments below!

As always, thanks for reading!
