I am a slow start to my morning type of person. I wake up, check my email and social media, get out of bed, eat a light breakfast, work out, then make my coffee or tea and sit down in front of my computer for the rest of the day. Some days are interrupted by lunch or coffee, sometimes meetings, or some other type of appointment, and some nights when everyone else is ending their day getting to go home and sit in front of the TV and relax, I’m getting ready to meet a client to show a few houses. So starting slow in the morning is especially important because it is some of the only time I actually get to myself.
Mondays tend to be even slower for me coming off a busy weekend of activities with friends and showing even more houses. However, this Monday is a little different. I am up, and at ‘em, fingers going at my keyboard because I am so excited to share with you all the new things coming to Our Humble ABoden.
If you haven’t noticed already, I’ve implemented a new logo and colors. Out with the Blush Pink and in with Dusty Blue. Although, the pink was cute and girly, I don’t want to isolate the few guys that check in on here and get some tips for their home buying experience or home décor. Also, the blue does resemble the shutters on our ABoden. And lets be honest, what was I thinking with the font in the original logo? This new logo is much more clean and professional looking. Emphasis on the Boden, because my last name is finally changing ya’ll!
I’ve also committed to bringing you more and consistent content in 2017 in this post. I did something like get an editorial calendar (rookie mistake for not having one) to better plan in advanced what’s coming your way on a weekly basis. Some things to look forward to: more real estate tips like how to get your offer to stand out in a competitive market or questions you should ask yourself to determine if you are ready to buy a home; more home décor posts like my favorite neutral paint colors, ways to save money when decorating your home; and wedding insights into The Boden Bash, my planning process, and I may even go into detail about why I am NOT marrying my best friend [GASP!].
Besides new content, something even better for all you is that now my posts will be shopable! Over the years I have had so many people tell me they wish I could come to their house and decorate for them. And while I can’t make it to everyone’s house personally, this way I can help each and every one of you just a little. This means, if you see a product you like within a post, you can click the link and it will take you to the page to buy it! I’ve featured a few things that are on my office wish list so you can get a taste of what it will look like!
This is what I have planned, but ultimately what matters most is what you want to see. So tell me! First, I want to hear what you have to say about the new look. Then tell me – is there something you want to know about buy or selling a home? Is there something about decorating your home that’s just giving you a hard time? Let me know! How can I help you?!

CoCo

Happy 2017! I love your new logo. Clean lines, nice font, pretty color! I would ideally like the same morning routine but with getting my kiddo up and out the door our mornings feel like a mad rush more times than not. Go idea with the editorial calendar. It’s easy to get off track if you don’t have one. Congrats on the name change btw!
